Our story started with a married couple in love who both truly desired kids their entire life. We had two early miscarriages in 2018 and proceeded to run some tests. We found out we had female and male fertility issues. It was advised to go straight to IVF (In vitro fertilization) and to also prevent future miscarriages. We prayed and sought out different types of doctors throughout our IVF journey. We did 3 egg retrievals, 3 transfers, multiple other surgeries and they never resulted in a child.
It was determined our embryo quality was not strong enough to result in a child. We decided to pray over our next steps that God would open the right doors and keep closing the wrong ones. We both knew deep down we would become parents, it wouldn’t look how we imagined, but that desire is what kept us going. We ended up doing embryo adoption. We adopted 4 embryos from a couple that did IVF but had completed their family and had remaining embryos. Our first transfer of our embryo worked and resulted in our daughter. The second transfer with the next embryo worked and resulted in our son. It was hard during the journey to see all that God was doing but now looking back on it, we see so much of His hand in healing our hearts and bringing these sweet souls to us.
There was a time I thought I would never hear ‘mama’ said to me. Now, when my daughter says mama and gives me a hug it makes me tear up knowing how blessed we are. I’m forever grateful for every path to becoming a parent.
