Our Angel Baby Jace

This is our son Jace. On the morning of April 18th, 2024, I noticed a decrease in his movements when I woke up in the morning. He typically wasn’t as active in the morning, so I wasn’t too worried yet. I got up, ate breakfast and poked my belly a few times, trying to get him to move. I started to panic when I wasn’t feeling anything so I called my OB and they instructed me to go to triage to get checked out. I just remember the entire car ride there. I was hoping and praying to God for any movement and still nothing. Finally, I got checked in and my husband was with me at the time. The nurse came in with the monitors and she tried to locate the heartbeat. When she couldn’t, I automatically assumed the worst. The doctor came in with the ultrasound machine and after what felt like the most agonizing few minutes of my life, she said the words, “I’m sorry, I don’t have good news for you today.” The words that will haunt me for the rest of my life.

I gave birth to Jace Brian Davis on April 19th, 2024. He was born sleeping at 39 weeks with a double nuchal cord. We don’t know for sure, but the doctor believes that was the cause of his death, because it was wrapped so tightly. Other than that, he was absolutely perfect. Our angel boy. Our only son. We will love him forever.
